Topics Presented:
The February meeting was an interesting meeting due to last minute changes and a record number of attendees. The meeting was scheduled for 11:00am on Saturday but due to a scheduling mix-up the meeting was moved to 4:00pm and also shortened. In addition, one of our presenters had to cancel just a few days before the meeting. Other than these unforseen events the meeting went very well. Thirteen people attended the meeting this time which included many new faces. It was interesting to here how everyone is using Sony's Vegas Video. As usual the conversation was abundant and very educational. We were able to get through most of the presetnation on the ProType Titler and it seems to have been beneficial to all.
It was suggested that we extend the time frame for future meetings since we have much to discuss and present. Therefore the meetings will be scheduled for 4 hours in the future instead of 2 hours. We are doing well with using the Chevy Chase Library facilities but we will investigate the possibility of meeting at other places.

Topics Presented:
Well we had a really good meeting in September. There were eight of us that were able to attend and judging from the amount of conversation I think everyone enjoyed it. For those of you who were not able to attend, the giveaways which I received from Sony were full Pro versions of Vegas7+DVD4, Acid 6, Cinescore, Sound Forge 9, Sony’s Sound Effects Library (ALL 10 disks!) and a couple of Loops & Samples CDs for Acid. In total, I received $2K worth of software to give away. Hopefully everyone who received a giveaway will get some good use of it.
Mike Francis was good enough to bring his equipment (PC & Projector) again to use for the presentations. Judging from the questions and facial expressions, I think we all got some good tips from his presentation about color correction.

Our last meeting of the year went really well. There were about six Vegas users who were able to attend the meeting. We changed venues for the meeting and held it at the Chevy Chase Neighborhood Library instead of at the Cleveland Park Neighborhood Library. This afforded the group slightly better parking and a little more room to work with. We had great conversation regarding the projects we have completed and discussed different techniques on how to use Vegas. There were some new faces at the meeting and it was great to meet everyone.

Our first meeting of the year went off without a hitch. Well the only hitch was finding parking. Only a few Vegas users were able to attend the first meeting of 2006 but, never-the-less, it is always good to meet fellow Vegas editors. The meeting consisted mainly of demonstration and discussion of projects completed by Mickey Grackin. Mickey brought his desktop computer and, using the library projector, played and talked about each video including the spark of idea for each one, why he did each video and some techniques used to complete each video. Peter Benson also brought his laptop along and viewed a commerical he created for a client. It was great to see productions created by other Vegas users.

|
In March of 2005, In response to the offer from Mickey Grackin to host WBVUG meetings at his home, Russel Heimlich asked to get together on short notice since he was home during a break from school in Philly. We had a good time showing off our different video projects and discussing how we made them. Our gathering brought us into the evening and he ended up staying for dinner while we chatted.

| October, 2004 |
|
In October, 2004 a number of us had good intentions of attending the Digital Media DC (DMDC) conference but were unable to do so due to financial constraints. However, we were fortunate enough to have met with Douglas Spotted Eagle for dinner while he was in town for the conference.

On September 21st, 2004 we joined the DVUG group for their monthly meeting in Bethesda MD. The meeting was quite educational. A special speaker from a local film lighting store in Silver Spring discussed and demonstared different lights and lighting techniques.
DVUG video tapes all its sessions and sells DVD copies. For more information check them out at www.dvug.org.
